Default Starting FOREX: Exchanging money?

I have saved quite some money (equivalent to 10k$) and i am thinking about making it grow thru exchanging currencies. but I don't know how to start. I don't like to hire some brokers, I want to do it by myself, though I don't know how. I looked at banks but they have their own SELLING and BUYING rate. Where can I practice this? thanks

There's a free book you can download at http://www.forexfromscratch.com It's a step-by-step beginners guide which shows you exactly what you need to do to get started in Forex trading and more importantly - how to make money with it.You just need to type your name and email into the boxes, hit the download button and they email you the book for free.Hope this helps?

learn at http://www.babypips.com/practice with play money http://www.oanda.com/their 'game' program looks 90% like the real thing - and will get you familiar with the programthe 'spread' is how you pay the bank for making your tradeit can vary from 2.5 to 5 - even to 10 pips (price incentive points) near the end of the trading weekthe stock market has a spread plus your brokerage fees (Scotttrade/Chuck Scwabb/etc)once you get a feel for it - I would recommend http://www.leveragefx.com/superb charts and information - and with your size account, if you let them be your introducing broker - you can have the $2,000 software (free!) and $100 monthly net feed (free!) for only 10 trades per monththat's the path I am on - may start trading with $2k in Januaryand by using good money management - earning only 1% a day - I can retire in 2 yrs2% a day in 10 months - it IS possibleps - they have a way to see the 'elephant tracks' - ie the level II traders who deal in millions of dollars - wouldn't you like to know where they are - buying or selling - you don't wan't to be opposite them or your stash will be trashed in a heartbeatthey have a few FREE videos on this site and they also have a mentoring service for a one time fee. It includes and hour at lunch each day - that you can record and playback later, and many more videos that you can watch numerous times. really know their stuff!all the be$t

For practicing forex is same like stock market. You are expected to join as a member under a broker. You can trade after that. FOrex is an exciting business. It is full of activity.Learning and starting a career is also easy so are returns that are unmatched. Now before going in to currency market have it in mind that it is risky business.
